- A very nice open-source program that is easy to install, learn and use. Setting up POP support is very easy. Adding extensions and themes makes T'bird YOUR email program. RSS feeds and Newsgroups are easy to add and use. Easy to set up and manage multiple email accounts including Gmail, Yahoo, etc. Good SPAM and security program built in. Excellent support. Provides free updates whenever new features or security issues needs patching. Has a very good calendar extension (Lightening) that makes T'bird very similar to Outlook for its capabilities.
- Cons:
- Like any new program, you have to learn how to use its power options and capabilities. If you add too many extensions, they can slow down the program a little. Now all themes offered are totally compatible and might slow the program down a little.
Being an Outlook user for fifteen plus years, I was concerned. I have been using T'bird for eight months and really enjoy the flexibility and power it provides. No complaints.
