About GreenTech
Mission
Our mission is to help social benefit organizations reduce their environmental impact through the effective use of technology.
By helping nonprofits "go green," we hope to reduce the sector's carbon footprint and contribute to the responsible stewardship of the Earth's environment. Visit our GreenTech page to learn more.
"GreenTech builds upon TechSoup.org's historic work in computer recycling and reuse and expands it to educate nonprofits and libraries in the benefits of "going green" in terms of their technology usage.
We essentially educate the nonprofit and philanthropy sectors around the world about how information and communications technology contributes to the atmosphere's greenhouse gas load – and ways that organizations can reduce their paper usage, recycle and reuse electronics, use technology to reduce travel and promote telecommuting, and reduce their overall IT power consumption."
Vision
Provide a community, tools, and services that engage people, corporations, and the government to reduce the environmental impact of social benefit organizations by increasing awareness of why green technology is important, providing guidance and opportunities to adopt green technology practices, developing additional tools and services related to green technology and to extend the useful life of technology products.
